Whenever Summers comes around, sneaker manufacturers begin revealing their season-ready collections and we have to admit, some of them are absolute fire! Today, we go through our picks for the best summer sneakers of 2021!
Last year, fans received arrays of hyped sneakers that included Nike Dunks, Iconic Retro Air Jordans, and many exciting Yeezys. This year, manufacturers continue that trend and have revealed their Summer 2021 lineups.
So without further adieu, let’s get right to our top picks!
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow 2.0”
First on our list of the Best Sumer Sneakers of 2021 is the Air Jordan 1 High OG Shadow 2.0.
The Air Jordan 1 officially released in 1985 after being inspired by the iconic Air Force 1 and the Nike terminator. This silhouette is still an all-time best-seller with multiple renditions and colorways released each year.
Among the most iconic colorways, such as the “Bred” and “Chicago” is the legendary “Shadow” colorway. A sneaker that’s enshrined in the minds of sneakerheads to this day.
Released in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 High Shadow was re-released quite a few times with multiple spin-offs. The first retro was introduced in 2009 while the 2021 variant marks the 5th iteration of this colorway.
These kicks feature cool subtle color tones that not only catch the eyes with their aesthetics, but also their history. Smooth leather covers the majority of these sneakers including the matte black underlays and the Smoke Grey overlays. The latter covers the scuff-guards, Swooshes, and rear panels while the former drapes the side panels, toe boxes, and throats.
Crisp white midsoles and black outsoles complete the look. Overall, this is probably the best Air Jordan for this Summers!
These kicks released just a few days ago on May 15th for $170 for men’s sizes. Although their resale value was sky-high prior to the release date, you can currently buy them at around $250 from the secondary market.
Nike Dunk High “Game Royal” 2021
Following the Nike Dunk Low Kentucky in 2020, Nike is set to drop yet another Dunk High in an OG colorway this June. This Summers may be the perfect chance to cop a close-to-retro Nike Dunk High Kentucky!
Nike Dunks started off as non-flagship basketball sneakers that rose to popularity simultaneously with college basketball. As a result, Peter Moore introduced a campaign that would provide college-themed Nike Dunks to various universities. One of them being the Nike Dunk High Kentucky!
This sneaker dons an almost identical color blocking with similar hues. Clean white leather covers the side panels and perforated toe boxes. Meanwhile, Game Royal overlays embellish the scuff-guards, lateral Swooshes, eye stays, and rears. Crisp white midsoles and Game Royal outsoles add the finishing touches.
This insanely clean Dunk High should definitely be on your must-cop list this summer! The release date is set for June 11th for a retail price of $110 for adult sizes via Nike SNKRS.
Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey“
Few things are more satisfying than a crisp white sneaker on a hot Summer day. Presenting the perfect white sneaker for your Summer 2021 wardrobe, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Neutral Grey.
This iconic colorway first appeared on the Air Jordan 1 in 1985 and is surely a fan favorite. These iconic sneakers only re-released once in 2015 as European exclusives and never saw daylight ever since. Luckily, Jordan Brand fans will now get a chance to get their hands on this famed colorway once again come June 24th for $130 on Nike.com and select retailers.
Dressed in premium white leather, this Jordan 1 Low doesn’t scream for attention yet garners it all the more effectively. The only contrast is provided in a subtle fashion on the lateral grey Swooshes and interiors. Crisp white midsoles and Neutral grey outsoles finish off the design.
Air Jordan 3 “Racer Blue”
The Best Summer Sneakers Of 2021 do include a lot of Air Jordans and for good reasons. Their designers are aware of the appeal that clean white uppers mixed with soft hues have on consumers during the Summers. And few are done up as gracefully as the Air Jordan 3 Racer Blue.
If you’ve missed out on the Fragment x Air Jordan 3s from 2019, you may want to keep an eye out on this one. These Jordan 3s feature eerily similar color tones that many fans will likely adore.
Tumbled leather white uppers are contrasted by grey elephant print scuff-guards and heels. Meanwhile, racer blue hits cover the Jump-Man logos on the tongues, the sock liners, and interiors. White midsoles with blue hits and cement grey outsoles complete the look.
Expect these to drop on July 10th for $180 for men’s sizes via Nike SNKRS.
Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Light”
Last but not least, we have a contender from Yeezy in the 350 V2 “Light” colorway.
You may be all-too-familiar with these color tones as Yeezy often uses pastel colors for the 350 V2. This model, however, features UV-sensitive materials that change colors when exposed to the sun. Some may argue that the 350 V2s were becoming stale but this gimmick may just rejuvenate hype for these sneakers.
Soft colored prime knit uppers predominantly cover the uppers while UV exposure leads to an amber transformation on the side stripes. Boost encapsulated matching soles finish off the look. The release date is set for August 21st for $220 likely via Adidas.com/Yeezy.
With that, we finish off our picks for the Best Summer Sneakers Of 2021!
